Music Wonders

Music is my life. Everything about it from musical instruments to the latest, coolest songs you hear on the radio and play on your Ipod. Do you like Itunes? I sure do and use it everyday. Apple computer turned the music world upside down when it came out with the Iphone but really it did the same thing with Steve Jobs came up with the idea for Itunes and developed the Ipod. Music has never been the same since.

I used to play in a small band and enjoyed the guitar and electronic keyboard. Electric guitars can really sound like a person singing if played right! Gibson has always been my favorite guitar although I have played Seagull, Fender, and Yamaha to name a few. On keyboards my Yamaha has always been the favorite but there are others that manufactur great electronic keyboards. These keyboards range in price from a couple hundred dollars to thousands depending on how sophisticated you want to get. They are literally a band in a keyboard with everything from bells to violins.

So who are your favorite musicians? Shania Twain? Billy Joel? The Rolling Stones? I guess I am dating myself with these choices but I know there many more to add on this list. The latest DVD players are amazing and come in all sizes. Portable DVD players can play your normal music but they also play movies and give great sound in a very small package. You can literally hold them on your lap and run off batteries. They even make small TV’s now that you can run on batteries and take on an airplane!

And of course, music in your house is a BIG deal! Home theater? Surround sound? Stereo system built in your home? Does not matter what type of setup you have. What matters is that you have a top quality stereo system to listen to your favorite music, TV shows, movies and sporting events. Sound is all around you and when you are at home you actually get to pick the sounds you hear! How cool it that? Think about how much money you spend on things you own like your car, your house, your boat, etc. You home stereo system is something you don’t want to skimp on as it can literally change your mood

and how you feel about life. Come home after a hard day at work and relax with wonderful music surrounding you. That is a receipe for harmonious living!

So don’t think that music and all the things associated with music don’t matter in your day to day life because they do and in a way much larger than you may have thought. I know when I hear a pretty song I feel more relaxed. When I hear a high energy rock and roll song I get motivated to do things that I may not have othewise. What do I mean? Well, a song can actually movitvate you to take action and change your life. It can lift your spirits and at the same time actually change the chemistry in your brain. Amazing stuff from just sound? That is why it matters “how” you hear it.

Have you ever really listened to the soundtrack on a hit movie or any movie for that matter? The music often makes a movie. Even a bad movie can be much more enjoying if it has a great soundtrack. And if you noticed most big movies these days hire popular musicians to produce the sound track. And the top box office movies often spin off a music CD that ends up being a top seller. So music is everywhere in your life. Everyday in every way!
